Celebrate Recovery Month in September

Recovery began for me when I discovered and understood what gratitude was. Finding gratitude in every symptom and situation helps to maintain my wellness and recovery. – Joseph

Recovery Month is a time to celebrate the millions of people who have changed their lives through recovery. A lot of times, their successes are not noticed. But each September during Recovery Month, we can shed light on recovery and share success stories. Recovery Month educates people across the country that treatment and services can help those with mental health conditions or substance use disorders live healthy, meaningful lives.

Recovery is possible, and Recovery Month encourages everyone to take action to help more people get the treatment and services they need. Find out more about Recovery Month on recoverymonth.gov.

To me, recovery means getting well and staying well. The things that I do to maintain my wellness are staying focused and staying away from certain people and places. – Elizabeth
